View full detailsInvesting in an electric treadmill for your home gym is a big decision. Broadly speaking, this type of equipment is not cheap and you’ll really want to make a commitment to using it. But once you’re aware of the endless list of benefits that come with using a treadmill, we think you’ll be convinced.
For starters, the treadmill is pretty easy to use, and using one at home helps you avoid tricky surfaces outside like curbs, uneven terrain, tree branches, and holes in the ground. As the treadmill is predictable and flat, you don’t have to worry about falling.
Since you’ll be running inside, you also don’t have to worry about the weather. Rain, wind, hail, snow? Not your problem, as you hop on your machine in your home gym.
Treadmills also offer a great cardiovascular workout, which is important for heart health, helps decrease bad cholesterol and can lower blood pressure. It also helps with muscle tone and allows you to strengthen your legs, butt, quads and calves, and even your core. And if you add a little incline to your workout, even better!
Another benefit of running on the treadmill is that it reduces the impact on your joints compared with running outside. When you run on a hard surface outside, you can cause damage to your knees, back, and ankles. On a treadmill, however, there is some shock absorption and an easier impact on your legs and feet in particular.
Running on your treadmill is also positive for joint flexibility. If you work out frequently on the treadmill, you can keep degenerative bone diseases and arthritis at bay while also reducing the risk of other conditions that limit your mobility and flexibility. You can also build bone density if you keep at it, which makes your bones strong and durable.
There are so many options out there, you might feel overwhelmed when it comes to picking the right treadmill for you. Here are a few things to consider to help you make your final decision.
Treadmills are generally large pieces of equipment that can take up a significant amount of space. Make sure you have a large enough area or consider a model that folds up and stores easily.
How are you planning to use your treadmill? Will you be running on it or walking? Will other people in your family or household be using it too?
Keep in mind that a longer stride will require a longer belt. In general, a 50 inch belt is suitable for walkers and a 55 inch belt is best for runners. Anyone taller than 6 feet who plans to run will need a 60 inch belt. Also, if you’re just going to be walking, a 20 inch wide belt should do; if you’re going to run, you’ll need a 22 inch wide belt.
Depending on your workout plans and fitness goals, you need to decide what kinds of extra features you want. Is a heart rate monitor important to you? How about an extensive set of program options? Do you want to recreate uphill and downhill scenarios during your workout? If so you’ll need a machine with incline and decline options. Are you thinking about linking your treadmill to specific apps or websites? Do you need bluetooth compatibility? You should answer all of these questions before selecting your model.
This is an important aspect that should not be overlooked. One look at the maximum weight limit and you can figure out how durable the machine is. Make sure you’re well below the weight capacity for your machine as safety should always be a priority.

thanks for your support with this order. My client liked the items.
The weight set was exactly what I expected and wanted. The company went out of their way to honour the order, get the set shipped to me, and make sure it arrived. A great experience all around.
Really impressed with this reformer. I needed a folding reformer for small space. It is easy to fold, the carriage is smooth and the leather good quality. I had looked around and compared many before committing to purchase. As it was cheaper than most others I was worried about the quality, however I am really happy I purchased this.
Also the customer service from fitness at home was amazing. Bea was friendly and kept me updated it was a great process! 👍
Extremely difficult to work with.
I am an NDIS participant, and the order needed to be corrected; it took over two months to correct, at a cost to me. Disappointed.
Absolutely love my weight tree with barbell holders, the customer service and products at fitness at home are exceptional and I’ll never shop anywhere else
